Hello everyone!!! I am soooo sorry for the gap between my last post and this one. My first full holiday season was so much crazier than I was expecting (which was both stressful and amazing), but now that I have some time to plan ahead, I wanted to post an update!
First of all, if you’re one of the people who purchased Payne & Comfort on Etsy, at craft shows, or from my retailers this season, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I literally made hundreds of Wicked Warmers and arm-knit scarves over the past few months- I’m tickled pink that you guys like them so much! It’s a blast getting to make cozy creations for your comfort!
When I started this business a little over a year ago, I really had no expectations. I figured I would make stuff I liked, get an Etsy sale here and there, and that would be enough to keep my artistic self humble and happy. And that’s how it was the first few months! But since then I’ve acquired six wholesale accounts, seen success at several craft shows and pop-up shops, and sold more on Etsy than I was prepared for. Don’t get me wrong- I am SO proud of and grateful for my small business success! BUT it’s not exactly what I thought I was signing up for when I started making hand warmers last November.
That being said, I’m looking to switch gears a little bit in 2017! Don’t worry- I’ll still continue to make Payne Killers, Socket Sacks, and Wicked Warmers as long as you guys are interested in buying them! But I really want to explore other avenues of comfort-
here’s looking at you, home décor!!
My husband and I made a lot of home improvements this year- we added a huge island onto our kitchen (thanks to my mom and step-dad’s business Advanced Kitchens), we got a fancy new front door and painted it red (it was always my dream to have a red door!), and (my favorite) I made a bunch of curtains to tie our open living/dining/kitchen area together. We were both AMAZED at how the curtains totally transformed the space and made it feel like home…
made it feel COMFORTABLE.
I’ve been wanting to expand into home décor since last Spring, but the newness of my business made it too difficult. Now that I have a year under my belt, I feel like I’m in a good place to experiment! Once I was done with my holiday orders this season, I took the time to make these fun throw pillows for my co-workers!!
I loved getting to choose phrases that were appropriate for them and pom pom colors that matched their styles and personalities! I’m still working out the details, but I’m happy to announce Payne & Comfort throw pillows will be hitting the shop in 2017!!! Be on the lookout next week for a very special giveaway involving one of these babies!
From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for making 2016 a great year for Payne & Comfort! Happy New Year and, as always, be well and stay comfortable.
